April 16, 2008.
This page will need to be updated to reflect our new Symphony library
software. Right now, just remember you will have to use your entire library
barcode number to check your account, place holds, etc. The directions
below are for the old web page, so won't match exactly. Muddle through,
or call your library for help until we can updated instructions.
- Connecting to iPAC from home
- Go to the Gorge LINK Library Catalog (www.gorgelinklibrary.org) and
click on “Search the library catalog”.
- Choose the type of search you would like to use. (Example: Keywords
in title or subject)
- Type in your search term and click on GO.
- To Request an item (Place a hold):
- Once you’ve found the item you want, click on Request Item.
- Enter the entire 14 digits of your library barcode in the box and
click on Login in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
- A screen will appear to confirm your library information. You are
offered a choice of pickup locations. Once you have confirmed your pickup
location, click Request.
- Click on Return to Searching to search for other titles or click on
Logout and Return if you are finished.
- Managing Your Account (To renew materials or check on holds):
- Click on My Account. Enter the entire 14 digits of your library barcode.
Click on Login in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This takes
you to Account Overview.
- Click on Checked Out to renew books. Click on Due
Date to list your items in order by their due date. Click on the tiny
box on the left and the Renew button at the top of the list to renew
your materials. If successful, the new due date will appear in the Due
Date column.
- Holds will give you a list of holds available for
pickup, and a list of items on hold.
Fines/Blocks will let you know if a hold has been cancelled, special
messages, items overdue, or fines.
- Profile is your personal information. If you want
to receive library notices by email, please contact your library.
- Click on Search to request items, or Logout
to finish. The Logout button is in the upper right hand corner. If using
the Gorge LINK catalog at the library, it is important to remember to
Logout to protect your privacy.
-
Receive notices by E-Mail, if your library supports it.
GorgeLINK does not share your e-mail addresses with anybody. There
are two types of e-mail notices in the GorgeLINK system.
- Courtesy Notices. These are "pre-overdue" reminder notices
sent out a few days before your materials are due. This is to allow
you enough time to call in or log on and renew your materials before
they are overdue. The system will not send out Courtesy Notices for
materials that checkout for less than seven days.
- Hold Notices. These are notices to alert you that your holds are ready
to be picked up. Items are held by the libraries for varying times,
depending on your pick-up location.
- You can sign up for both types of notices by letting the library staff
at the front desk know you are interested. There will be some information
they will need to gather.
- Creating a list or bibliography:
- Search the library catalog by selecting the type of search, type
in your search term and click the Go button.
- When you find an interesting title, click on Add to My List. The bar
will change to Remove to allow adding and deleting of titles during
your search session. As you search the catalog, you can add titles to
your list.
- To save your list you need to log into My Account. To do this, click
on Login in the upper right corner and enter your library barcode or
choose the My Account tab next to the Search tab.
- To view your list at any time Login to your account.
